Pink and Peach

Here I used Color Club's "Hot, Hot, Hot Pants" as the base and stamped over it with a Konad Pink. The stamping plate is MoYou London's "Fashionista 12"

Hot Hot Hot Pants

Recently I invested in the whole Color Club Neon Pastel Collection, and this is the first one I chose to wear.  "Hot, Hot, Hot Pants" is a vibrant pastel peach.  The formula is on the thin side, but extremely easy to work with, and the colour is fantastic.  I would highly recommend these polishes, especially if you are afraid of the true neon shades, but still appreciate bright colours.  This is 3 coats and HK Girl Top Coat.

Violet Flowers

I used China Glaze "Tarty For the Party" for the base colour.  This is a really pretty mid lilac purple with a great formula.  Opaque in two easy coats and highly recommended.

Over this I added a layer of OPI Pure White Gold and Silver Top coat, then stamped the flowers using Mundo De Unos Stamping Polsh in Violet.  Finally I used a dotting tool to add some gold centres to the flowers with Zoya's "Ziv".

The stamping plate is "FUN 13" by Fab Ur Nails.

Pretty Flamingos

Using the base of Maybelline's "Mint For Life" (as shown on previous post), I stamped the flamingo design in Stargazer "Metallic Pink".  The stamping plate is MoYou London's "Tropical - 05"

Maybelline - Mint for Life

Gorgeous mint green colour.  Ok formula, beautiful and opaque in two coats. Shown here with HK Girl Top coat.

Glitter Flowers

The base colour here is a matte polish by Mentality called "Contessa".  This was then stamped with Essie's "Penny Talk" using Dashica Big SDP-X.  I then used a dotting tool to colour the flowers and add some sparkle using Zoya's "Tinsley".

Poppies and Strawberries

Today I decided to wear a red polish since I rarely reach for this colour unless it's Christmas time.  I chose Sally Hanson "So Poppy" which is a lovely orange toned red.  The formula seemed somewhat thin, so it was a suprise that this was opaque on two coats.  Despite the thin formula it was very easy to work with and applied smoothly with minimum clean up.  I added an accent nail using Oopsie Daisies "Strawberry Tall Cake".  This is a gorgeous crelly polish packed with matt glitters in reds, yellows and a few deep magenta/ purple ones too.  I used two thin coats over a base of Zoya's "Purity".

Candy Flakes Lollipop

This is a super bright pink polish by Dance Legend from their Candy Flakes Collection, called "Lollipop".  I tried this polish sometime last year on it's own, and though I did manage to get it opaque, it was 3-4 very messy coats, and I wasn't too impressed with the finished effect or amount of clean up!

This time, I used it as a topper over Barry M's "Dragonfruit" and it was much easier to work with.  I added a matte topcoat and liked it a whole lot better too.  The flakies are in shades of gold, orange and almost red depending on the light.

After wearing this for a day, I decided to stamp over it using Dashica Big SDP - X.  I think I prefer it without the stamping, but you never know until you try something out :-)

Boho Blues

This is Boho Blues by China Glaze.  Two coats, good formula and a gorgeous cornflower blue colour.  Unfortunately I have two dupes for this one, namely Rimmel 60 seconds "Mind The Gap, Victoria" and Barry M "Blueberry".

I stamped over Boho Blues with Konad White using an image from stamping plate "Lily Anna 13".

Dupes for Boho Blues:

Left to Right: CG "Boho Blues", Rimmel "Mind The Gap, Victoria", Barry M "Blueberry"

Barbie Girl

Here I used "Barbie Girl" by Fancy Gloss which is a beautiful thermal polish.  It is a mid tone pink when cold, that changes to a light milky almost white pink when warm. Two coats, very easy formula to work with and fast drying.  Thermal polishes unfortunately are known to have a limited shelf life.  However, this bottle is 12 months old and the thermal effect has not deteriorated at all.  In comparison, my Dance Legend thermal died after only a couple of months so this is a far superior polish and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this brand.

I stamped over Barbie Girl with Essie's "Good As Gold" using an image from Sugar Bubbles 019.

Stamped Gradient

Zoya's "Purity" stamped with a gradient of China Glaze "Harmony", Kleancolor "Metallic Navy" and China Glaze "Adore".  The stamping plate is Sugar Bubbles 019.

Daisies

Here I used Essie's "Cute As A Button" for my base polish, then stamped over it using Konad "White", and finally used a dotting tool with OPI's "I just can't Cope-acabana" for the flower centres. The stamping plate is DRK Nails XL Designer 1.

Mint Candy Apple

One of my favourite pastel colours, "Mint Candy Apple" by Essie.  Here I topped it with "Confettis" by L'Oreal.

Purple Sparkles

Barry M's  "Prickly Pear", topped with China Glaze's "Nova"

Easter Nail Art

Here My Easter Nails - OPI "Thats Hula-rious", Barry M "Huckburry", Essie "Fiji", Sinful Colors "Unicorn", Essie "Go Ginza".  Stamped with Zoya "Emilia".  Stamping plate: Sugar Bubbles 019

Floral Stamping

Here I used Essie's "Suite Retreat" as the base colour, then stamped over it with China Glaze's "Devotion".  The stamping plate is Uber Chic 1-03

Essie - Suite Retreat

Essie "Suite Retreat".  Almost a one coater and flawless formula! Leans a touch more purple than the picture shows, but a really beautiful colour.

Zoya Faye

New to my collection is Zoy'a Faye which has a purple base and is filled with tiny golden shimmers. Depending on the light it can appear pink, purple or gold, but mostly a rosy gold colour.  Very easy application and good formula.  The clean up was relatively easy too considering how much gold shimmer there is in this polish.  Here it is shown with two coats and HK Grl Top Coat, although the top coat added nothing in terms of shine since it's so glitzy to begin with.

Valentine's Hearts

Using China Glaze "Friends Forever, Right?" as the base, I stamped the hearts using Color Club's "Halo-Graphic".  The stamping plate is Uberchic 1-03

China Glaze - Friends Forever, Right?

This is a gorgeous milky pale pink colour that is almost white.  It has a surprisingly good formula for a pastel shade in that it does not drag or lift the polish if you go over it with the brush several times. It is however , a little on the thin side, so don't over load your brush.  Very impressive though.

Flying Dragon Stamped

Here is Flying Dragon from my previous post stamped with Model's Own Chrome Pink.  All the Model's Own Chrome line stamp fairly well, but you have to be really fast as they dry very quickly.  Stamping plate is Sugar Bubbles - SB029

Friday 13 February 2015

Flying Dragon

Flying dragon is a multichrome flakie polish by Indigo Bananas.  Purple seems to be the dominating colour, but it shifts between a violet, red and gold depending on the lighting.  It has a great formula and is opaque in two coats.  The brush is pretty thin which hinders application a little for me, but other than that, a highly recommended polish.

Tuesday 10 February 2015

Zebra Stripes

Created using a number of polishes for the base and a zebra print stamp from MoYou London.
The base colours used were Sinful Colors "Easy Going" (Pinkie), Barry M Gelly "Coconut"(Ring finger & thumb), Essie "Sand Tropez" (Middle finger), and China Glaze "Wanderlust"(Index finger).

I used "Virgin Queen" by A-England to stamp the Zebra print pattern from Pro Collection, plate 04.

Chalkboard Valentines

Since I wanted to try out the chalk board effect, I combined this with a Valentine's theme and came up with this skittle type manicure.  My index, middle finger and pinkie were first painted with OPI's "Black Onyx", and my ring finger and thumb were painted with Sally Hansen's "White On".

Next, I added a glitter top coat to my middle finger using Revlon's "Graffiti".

Pinkie and Index finger were stamped with Konad white using the VL-001 plate by Vivid Lacquer.
Thumb and ring finger were stamped with Konad Black using MoYou London's "Pro Collection 08". I used a dotting tool to colour the hearts with Zoya's "Posh".

Finally, I added a coat of Essie's "Matte About You"

Snakeskin

For this design, I started with a greadient using 3 polishes by A-England, namely "Virgin Queen", "Fotheringhay Castle" and Dragon".  I then stamped over the gradient using Konad Black and a snakeskin image by DRK Nails on plate DRK-C.

Sunday 1 February 2015

Rose Decals

These are decals I made using the plastic bag method with Sally Hansen "Hard As Nails" Topcoat, which I then stamped on using Konad Black.  The rose design from FUN 13 plate was then coloured using a dotting tool and three shades of pink polish, namely China Glaze "Spring In My Step". Essie "Fiji" and Rimmel 60 Seconds "Ring A Ring O Roses".

Purple Butterflies

This was created using Mentality polishes.  The base uses Mentality "Dignity" which is a light grey-lilac with a matte finish.  For me, this had a pretty awful formula.  It was thick and streaky, no matter how you applied it,  and I would definitely not be happy wearing it alone without stamping to cover up all the flaws and brushstrokes.

I have quite a few of Mentality's Matte polishes, and though they have some very pretty colours, I've found many of them have this same formula and are generally a disappointing purchase as they are so difficult to work with.   That said, the polishes by Mentality in their Opaque range are wonderful and stamp amazingly well.  Here I used their "Purple Opaque" to stamp over dignity, and despite all the issues I had with the base colour, I did end up quite liking how this turned out.  The stamping plate used here is MoYou London's "Princess 12"

Wednesday 28 January 2015

Mint Candy Apple & Saint George

Here I used two coats of "Mint Candy Apple" by Essie, then stamped using A-England's "Saint George".  The stamping plate is Lily Anna 05.

Sunday 25 January 2015

Eurso Euro

Two coats of OPI's "Eurso Euro" as my blue base and stamped with Essie's "Good As Gold".  The stamping plate is Lily Anna 02.

Aurora With Gold Stamping

Using Aurora by Picture Polish as my base, I stamped this design using Essie's Good As Gold".  The image is from DRK-A stamping plate.

Picture Polish Aurora

This is a limited edition polish I purchased last year, but had yet to wear.  Gorgeous duo-chrome finish that shifts from green through teal, purple and magenta.  Shown here over one coat of OPI's Black Onyx.

Monday 19 January 2015

Rose Libertine & Van D'Go

Today's Nail Art - Essie's "Van D'Go" stamped with Rimmel 60 Seconds "Rose Libertine".  The plate is Lily Anna #14.  My camera made it look more pink than it really is, Van D'Go is more of a Salmon colour.

Sunday 18 January 2015

Emily De Molly - Hole In The Sky

A gorgeous light cornflower blue crelly glitter polish.  Really easy to apply, great formula, opaque in two coats with little clean up.  Recommended polish :-)

Japanese Flower Tiles

The base polish here is "Vanilla Sky" by Lacquer Lust which is a matte polish.  I then stamped over it using China Glaze "Joy" from the Romantique Collection.  The stamping plate is MoYou London's "Suki Collection, Plate 06"  I topped it with HK Girl Top coat in the first instance, and then OPI Matte Top Coat - I've found if I add the Matte Top Coat directly to stamped images, then they will smudge.

Monday 12 January 2015

Baby Please Come Home

Gorgeous silver lilac texture polish by OPI called "Baby Please Come Home".  Shown here with two coats.

Thursday 8 January 2015

Fun Flowers

The base is Arctic Freeze by Glam Polish (see my previous post for how it looks on it's own), and the flowers are stamped with Konad White.  Purple centres are done in Color Club's Eternal Beauty using a dotting tool.  The stamping plate is FUN 13.

Tuesday 6 January 2015

Arctic Freeze

New to my collection, Arctic Freeze  is a gorgeous light turquoise polish with a fantastic formula by Glam Polish.  Shown here with two coats and HK Girl Top Coat.

Sunday 4 January 2015

Negative Space Lace

For this I used a very lightly tinted base which I made by mixing a couple of drops of black polish with some top coat and applied it to each nail. Next, I stamped a design from DRK's Enlaced Plate using Konad black.  Finally it was topcoated with HK Girl Topcoat.
